events in the maloca
The Maloca is one of the legacies of COP30 for future UN climate conferences – and also for other meetings that discuss global climate change.
Thus, it continues operating after the summit in Belém, hosting virtual events and exhibitions.
One of them is the exhibition 'Faces of Fire', which shows the work of the Ibama center that combats fires. Click below to check out the exhibition, which is open 24 hours a day.

MALOCA LAUNCH
maloca :
taking COP30 to every part of the globe
Originally, malocas are types of communal dwellings used by some Indigenous peoples of the Amazon region. Malocas can have different styles, sizes, and social functions, serving as homes and/or places for community gatherings, knowledge transmission, and rituals. Among the Marubo , for example, the maloca is constructed with joints and ties and serves as a place to sleep, prepare food, receive visitors, chant, and assist the shaman.
As part of the Route to Belém, Maloca has become a metaverse platform that expands access to COP30 and other climate change events. It hosts immersive virtual rooms where governments and organizations, whether present at the Belém conference or not, can give presentations, allowing anyone from anywhere in the world to participate. Maloca also provides AI-powered translation of events into over 50 languages.

In addition to hosting customizable immersive environments for presentations on global climate change, Maloca enables participants to interact with each other before, during, and after events. The videos below demonstrate how the platform works and highlight its main features:
Maloca prototype was opened for testing at COP 29 in Baku (video below) . Even without mass dissemination, the virtual environments have already received more than 1,200 visitors. In March 2025, we held the first Maloca , in which more than 1,500 students from public schools across 3 continents (South America, Africa, and Europe) participated. The event was held in 4 languages – French, Portuguese, English, and Spanish – allowing interaction among the young people, represented by avatars within the Maloca Maloca .
