technology and knowledge to make COP30 the 'turning point'
Route to Belém platform is an initiative that combines technical expertise with new technologies and digital environments to help make COP30 in Belém, Brazil, the turning point we need to address global climate change. How do we do this? There are two strategies. The first uses scientific studies to strengthen discussions among COP negotiators.
The second uses digital tools such as a smart calendar app, metaverse platforms, and a virtual assistant (chatbot) to engage society, the private sector, and academia in the debates, allowing participation from those in Belém and other locations. Route to Belém is a project of PRODOC, a partnership between UNDP Brazil/UN and the Climate Secretariat (MRE).
