technology and knowledge to make COP30 the 'turning point'

Route to Belém platform is an initiative that combines technical expertise with new technologies and digital environments to help make COP30 in Belém, Brazil, the necessary turning point to address global climate change. How do we do this? There are two strategies. The first uses scientific studies to strengthen discussions among COP negotiators.

The second uses digital tools, such as a smart calendar app, metaverse platforms, and a virtual assistant (chatbot), to engage society, the private sector, and academia in the debates, enabling participation by people in Belém and other locations. The Route to Belém is a project of PRODOC, a partnership between UNDP Brazil/UN and the Climate Secretariat (MRE).

  • Macaozinho

Our AI chatbot was named in honor of macaws (Ara macao) , birds that are among the symbols of Brazil. In an era of misinformation, it serves as a reliable source on global climate change, having been trained on official documents from UN climate agencies. Proficient in over 50 languages, it provides accurate data on topics related to negotiations at COP30 in Belém and previous COPs.
